A beautiful rich cup of chocolate and nuts without the caffeine.

Decaf coffee has come a long way over the last few years. No longer are we seeing low-quality decaf options on our menus, we’ve entered a new generation where we can enjoy a range of great coffees that have been carefully produced using as natural methods as possible to remove the caffeine, without compromising those fantastic origin flavours.

Our Brazil Savannah SWD is no exception to this, offering all the great qualities of a high-quality Brazilian coffee, rich and chocolatey with notes of roasted nuts, without the caffeine!

What is Swiss Water Decaf?
Swiss-water is a company who has become a specialist in producing some of the world’s best decaffeinated coffee – and they achieve this by using just water alone!

The process happens by slowly heating coffee beans in a tank full water until to force the beans to swell and expand. As this expansion occurs, the ‘pores’ of the bean begin to open, allowing the caffeine to be released into the water. As this happens a cycle occurs releasing the caffeine-extracted water from the tank, replacing it slowly with fresh water in a continuous cycle until all of the caffeine has been released. The beans are cooled slowly again using fresh water, before being drained and dried back  to it’s original state again. The Swiss-water method is a slow and time-consuming process, but results have shown that it retains almost all of the coffee’s origin flavour in the process, with virtually no caffeine, proving that great tasting decaf can be such a thing!
