If you’ve ever had one of our delicious hot chocolate drinks from our mobile barista van, you’ll know how good these taste!
A rich, luxurious flavour combining a delicious roasted cocoa flavour with distinctive accents of hazelnut, caramel and vanilla. This is where the Criollo, which are native to Venezuelan play a part, and are well-renowned in the fine chocolate world for producing chocolate with richer more intense flavours.
Comes as a 240g bag, enough for six mugs (when made as per recipe below).
Info:
Origin: Venezuala
Varietal: Criollo, Trinitario
Cocoa Content: 43%
Manufactured: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK
Recipe:
Dissolve 40g (8 tsp) of real chocolate flakes into 300ml (10 fl oz) hot milk.
If you’ve got a home coffee machine with a milk steamer, simply add it all to your jug and steam. Similarly these work great on a velvetiser too!
If you’ve not got either of these, the old school method is just a nice, heating milk in a pan (or microwave) and stir in the flakes until melted. The key is to get the milk hot enough to melted the chocolate, but not too hot so it starts to burn. Life’s too short for burnt milk!
Ingredients:
Sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, whole milk powder, natural vanilla flavouring.
Cocoa solids: 43% minimum.
Milk solids: 19% minimum.
